Read&Write has graduated. Introducing Read&Write for Work
We’ve taken everything our customers love about Read&Write and created a brand new version just for the workplace.
Read&Write has been part of the Texthelp product suite for years. It’s a literacy and productivity toolbar that started its journey in education. It has stayed with many of its students right through to the workplace and has proven to be a loyal companion at all stages of life. But that's not all. In recent years it’s taken employees all over the world under its wing and has matured into a valuable tool for many in the digital workplace. In fact, some even say it’s "life-changing!"
So we decided it was time for Read&Write to graduate.
*Office door swings open!*
Introducing Read&Write for Work.
Read&write for Work is a brand new version of Read&Write, created just for the workplace. This new version will go live on 28th June 2021. If you’re a current customer you'll get the update automatically as part of your subscription. Turned off automatic updates? No problem. Reach out and let us help.
What’s different about Read&Write for Work?
Read&Write for Work is a completely separate toolbar from the last version, which is still a trusty tool for students. That means that our customers in the world of work can benefit from dedicated resources just for them. From development right through to the front of the house, we’ll be able to better meet your needs and the challenges that come from working in an evolving workplace.
And there’s more...
A brand new look and feel
Read&Write for Work has been given a look and feel that’s in line with the modern workplace. The toolbar is much slimmer, meaning it’ll merge nicely with the tools you already use.
There’s also a light mode and a dark mode. Dark mode cuts down the amount of light emitted by our screens. Having the choice to switch to dark mode helps give our tired eyes a break throughout the working day.
Easier and more natural to use
We’ve also grouped the features to help you find at a glance the tools you need. That's one less thing to worry about in your fast-paced working environment.
Speech tools
Text-to-Speech is at the heart of Read&Write for Work. It gives assistive support to those who need it and offers productivity benefits to us all. We’ve grouped the speech tools together so they’re easy for everyone to find.
Neurodiversity tools
Assistive tools support employees with neurodivergences such as Dyslexia, Autism and ADHD. We’ve identified the tools that would be most helpful for them day-to-day. These tools help with:
- Supporting literacy
- Information processing
- Improving focus and concentration
- Improving productivity
- Relieving stress
You’ll find them grouped in the middle of the toolbar.
Productivity tools
Staff work quicker when documents are easily available and accessible to them. They're also more productive if they can finish tasks in a way which suits their working style. We’ve identified the tools that can help staff to work smarter and more efficiently. Tools that:
- Turn paper documents and PDFs into accessible digital formats
- Translate content easily, at the click of a button
- Collect information with ease
- Give detailed feedback in an instant
- Process large documents on the go
You’ll find them grouped to the right of the toolbar.
Quicker access to support and resources
The quick links menu on the toolbar has also evolved. The menu choices now include access to support articles and video walkthroughs as well as the chance for you to give us feedback (because we love to hear from you!). From there you can also update your personal settings and check for updates at the click of a button. You can also identify your unique product code. This makes it easier for our team to help you if you need support.
And finally
We’ve also made a few updates to some of our features.
Talk & Type is now called Dictation. We think it makes more sense for our corporate friends, don’t you?
Along with its new name, the feature has also been improved.
It's now much more accurate than it was before. That means it can benefit your employees better than ever. They can speak and watch as their words appear in their document. And with improved accuracy, they really can produce documents in half the time!
Being able to dictate also saves employees from having to type, which is really helpful for people who have repetitive strain injury or carpal tunnel syndrome. Less typing can help reduce the risk of these conditions for your staff, too.
And finally, the Translation icon has been updated.
We hope you’re as excited about Read&Write for Work as we are! And like any new employee, you'll welcome it into your working day with a smile on your face. Just like Marie-Antoinette…
I really like the new look and feel of the toolbar. The slimmer size and the new style makes it look more like a workplace tool than it did before. The way the features on the toolbar are now grouped into three sets will be so useful for people with memory issues
